ASD: on being a special-needs single parent

Much has been said about the costs of the Covid-19 pandemic to our children: missing important opportunities for learning, socialisation and life skills. But before that, children with Autism were paying the price. Thousands of families  nationwide went without our children’s legal rights being met, and a High Court Appeal about this was dismissed in 2019, the year in which the Ofsted chairperson described the situation as a “national scandal”. Here is our family’s experience of that Exclusion.
